Super Bowl Sunday is only a few days away. AFC champions, Cincinnati Bengals will face the NFC Champions, LA Rams in an intense matchup to secure the Vince Lombardi Trophy. Super Bowl LVI will take place on Sunday, February 13th, at SoFi Stadium in LA.

Cincinnati defeated the Kansas City Chiefs in an outstanding 27-24 overtime win, paving their way to the big game and securing their first conference championship since 1989. Led by 2nd-year quarterback Joe Burrow the Bengals had to overcome a 21-3 first-half deficit. With 9:22 left in overtime, Cincinnati kicker Evan McPherson drilled a 31-yard field goal to complete the Cincinnati comeback.

The LA Rams faced the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC championship game. The LA Rams are led by former Detroit Lions quarterback Matt Stafford, and with Eminem performing in the halftime show, this is the closest Detroit is going to get to actually being in the super bowl.

Speaking of the halftime show – the show will feature performances from some of the biggest names in the music industry, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, Mary J. Blige, and Dr. Dre. The lineup has been dubbed the “most anticipated Super Bowl halftime show ever” by sponsor Pepsi.

Now back to the big game!

According to a poll, 68% of Spartans want Cincinnati to take the dub, although only 51% think they will win. Junior Connor Pursell who picked the Rams said “As a lifelong Broncos fan I’d love to see Von Miller get another super bowl!” Sophomore Andrew Weitzel wants the Bengals to win but suspects the Rams will because “[The Bengals] haven’t won a super bowl and it’s been half a century since they’ve [made it] this far.” Another sophomore named Andrew, Andrew Gopal agrees with Weitzel, he said, “In Joe we trust, but [the] Rams [defensive] line will be tough to overcome, plus rams jerseys are lowkey mid”

Joe Burrow is a 25-year-old 6’4 quarterback who played for the LSU Tigers. JoeyB went from being Home Alone as a child, and stranded in New York, to leading an NFL team to the Superbowl. He’s come a long way.

Joe Burrow has several nicknames consisting of – JoeyB, JB, Joe Shiesty, Joey Franchise, Jackpot Joey, Smokin’ Joe, Joe Brr, and several others. If the Spartans are right and Cincinnati takes the win, that would make Joe Burrow the first-ever quarterback to win a Heisman Trophy and a Super Bowl Ring.

Good luck to both NFL teams, I’ll be looking forward to seeing JoeyB carry the Vince Lombardi trophy!

(disclaimer: Joe Burrow is not actually the kid from the Home Alone movies)
