Everyone wears shoes. We never question the person next to us; why they have different shoes, what size they wear, or how long they’ve had them for. With Broad Run holding 1600 students, that means there’s an estimated 1600 pairs of shoes walking around, assuming everyone has two feet. Each pair carries around a different student throughout the school, each pair different from the last, but carries the small possibility of being the same. Is it possible the person walking next to you carries the same self insufficient thoughts?

To break the constant thinking that our insecurities define who we are, we first have to remember that our bodies are not to be used as an example of perfection, but instead an exhilarating frame that allows us to think and create for ourselves. We’re all different, from it being athletes and academic scholars, to musicians and artists. We all wear shoes no matter what size, brand or color. Despite this fact, that we all have insecurities about ourselves on bad days, we’re all Broad Run students with importance and purpose. We all are the same no matter the difference.
