Everyone here at Broad Run knows who Mr.Runfola is. But how many of you actually know him? I am guessing not a lot. Let’s get to know Broad Run’s most famous Assistant Principal a little more.
Mr. Runfola has been working for nearly thirty-two years. Throughout his very long career, he has worked in different schools like Potomac Falls High School and Broad Run High School where he currently works and absolutely loves. “The most favorite thing about my job is being with all of you [students], being part of something special, being part of someplace that’s very special with the long history that we have.” Now for the least favorite part. Yes, I know I know, how can someone working with us have a least favorite part of their job, but there isn’t a job in the world without downsides. Here’s what Mr.Runfola says about his career’s downside, “The least favorite part for me is when all of you leave for summer and I’m still here.”
Mr. Runfola is passionate about his job, but he does much more than what students may see from the outside looking in. Mr. Runfola is an administrator, to be more specific he is an assistant principal. “Every day is busy; I never feel caught up.” His general day at work is filled with answering emails, walking around, providing security support, and being visible. “I like to think that the one thing, as part of my general day, is that not just myself, but the other administrators too is being visible and being part of the school.” That is not the only thing that he does. He also supervises facilities here at Broad Run. He helps coordinate work for the building like inspection, painting, and repair work. So, everyone at BRHS has Mr.Runfola to thank for having a well-maintained school.
In short Mr.Runfola is an assistant principal who really cares about the school and the students at Broad Run. He does that by making sure that he is available to the students whenever and wherever he needs them. He truly is someone who is devoted to the job.
