Spartans Triumph Over Titans, 49-0

After a season without fans, anticipation was high for the home opener. One thing was made clear by the Maroon Crew Thursday night, “this is our house!” The Broad Run football team proved this statement to be true with a dominant performance and did not disappoint. Before the game, senior Quarterback Brett Griffis stated, “We had a good week at practice so I think we can keep the offense rolling. The O-Line is doing great, the receivers are making good plays, and the running back is taking runs along, so I think if we keep up what we’re doing, [..] we’re going to have a good game.”  Alex Biddle looked to follow up his impressive performance last game, stating pregame, “We’re going to bring the same thing. I’ve been watching my film [..], and I hope to replicate that this week.”

The student section, notorious for its unmatchable school spirit, chanted, “I believe that we have won” before the end of the third quarter. They brought the energy from the previous game against Briar Woods, and the players did the same. On both sides of the ball, the team ran like a well-oiled machine. It seemed like every time the defense forced a turnover, the offense answered with an explosive play. Whether it was a lofted pass down the field or a carry down the middle, the offense made a touchdown happen. After another electric game, the Spartans are looking forward to facing their next opponent, Loudoun Valley, at their Homecoming game. The Vikings are coming off of a 38-6 win against Annapolis Area Christian School.
