Welcome to Broad Run, Ms. Morley!

The start of the 2021 – 2022 school year brings new faculty members to Broad Run from counselors to teachers. One of the new faculty members includes Ms. Morley, the school counselor for student’s last names JJ – MCL.

Ms. Morley is from Vermont where she attended Region Union High School and later attended Northern Vermont University. She earned her undergraduate degree in human services and her graduate degree in school counseling.

This is Ms. Morley’s  fourth year as a school counselor and her first year as a high school counselor, previously serving as an elementary school counselor. “I’ve always had a desire to help people and I love being around students in a school atmosphere. I just think that the energy within a school building is amazing and a school counselor kind of blends the helping people and school energy together,” she said.

When asked about her goals as a school counselor,  Ms. Morley stated, “My goals are to help each student recognize their individual potential and to help them access whatever resources it is that they feel they need in order to be successful in life.”

From speaking to students about their experiences through the pandemic, she has found that there’s been a lot of personal growth and new appreciation for things.  Her final remarks to students are. To use what they’ve learned from C, to become stronger and more independent individuals. And make the best of whatever is remaining of their high school career. Whether you’re a freshman, sophomore, junior, senior, just make it the best. “
