The start of the 2021 – 2022 school year brings new faculty members to Broad Run ranging from counselors to teachers. One of the new faculty members includes Ms. Scholem, the school counselor for students with last names  A-BRAN.

Ms. Scholem grew up on Long Island, New York, where she attended Commack High School. Ms. Scholem graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelor’s in psychology and later attended George Washington University, where she got her Master’s in school counseling.

This is her first year as a school counselor. “This was something that I have dreamed of doing. I realized I love working with students, and that’s when I thought that being a school counselor would be the perfect job for me,” she said. “ I’ve felt so welcomed and supported, and everyone that I’ve talked to has such great energy. It’s just that’s just my favorite thing, the energy that comes with being at Broad Run.”

Ms. Scholem had some words of wisdom to offer. “My biggest advice is connect with your counselors, connect with your teachers, connect with your peers. Relationships are everything.”
