Today at 8:08 p.m. is officially the kickoff of the World Series at Minute Maid Park in Houston with the Washington Nationals and the Houston Astros facing each other. It is a really exciting duel with both teams achieving a really impressive feat. This is the Nationals first trip to the World Series and the Astros third appearance in the World Series with them coming off a recent win  in 2017. The Nationals will look to get their first ever championship, and the Astros are looking to add one more to their collection.

According to many sources, the Astros are the favorites over the Nationals due to the Nats’ tendency to occasionally choke in important games and because they are facing the team with the best record  in the MLB. The Nationals will once again have to prove everyone wrong showing that a team who had the eighth best record in the regular season can be crowned the champions. The Nationals did perform better in their League Championship Games compared to the Astros, sweeping the St. Louis Cardinals in the first four games. The League Championship is the series before the World Series and is also known as the World Series Qualifier. The Astros did not perform as well, having to extend the series into six games compared to the four games. The Astros beat the New York Yankees four games to two. This series will be an exciting one, and I can’t wait to see which team will come out as the champions for this season, hopefully the Nationals.

Here are the projected starting lineups for tonight’s game:

Nationals:

1. Trea Turner, SS
2. Adam Eaton, RF
3. Anthony Rendon, 3B
4. Juan Soto, LF
5. Howie Kendrick, DH
6. Ryan Zimmerman, 1B
7. Asdrubal Cabrera, 2B

4. Alex Bregman, 3B
