Happy Homecoming Spartans! We here at The Spartan hope everyone had a very safe and fun homecoming night last Saturday. Broad Run’s 50th homecoming was nothing short of spectacular. We’ve had the homecoming parade for quite some time; however with the arrival of the alumni, and the added pressure of the anniversary, SCA went above and beyond. SCA members were there bright and early, tediously organizing the parade, and all that inhabit it. The parade includes people from various parts of Broad Run, as well as in the community. The floats were decked out in maroon and gold; I give props to the senior’s 80’s theme, the pacman was genius. The homecoming court and the mass of convertibles was a huge hit with the crowd, although Mr Simmons and his wife may have stolen the show.  The scouts, Dulles Little League, Little Spartans all paraded down the streets, throwing candy as they went along. The Broad Run athletes were setting the tone of the crowd, throwing candy to the kids, and having fun on their floats. The parade followed over to the school, where the students flooded in, in preparation for the big game. The Homecoming parade set the tone for an awesome Spartan filled day!
