Bohemian Rhapsody, a film and a loving tribute to Queen’s Freddie Mercury, which was released on November 2nd, 2018 has viewers leaving the theater with a heavy heart full of overwhelming love and triumph. Whether you were a Queen fanatic or don’t really know who/what Queen is, this magical and spirit-lifting movie will send you home reciting all of the band’s greatest hits and a huge appreciation for the man that is Freddie Mercury.

The film’s central focus is on the lead singer of Queen, Freddie Mercury. The movie shows where he came from and how him and the band got their starts and ascended on their ladder to stardom. While the movie can be heavy at moments, the dialogue throughout the film is scattered with exquisite through moments of comic relief. These moments were shown in scenes when the band was creating one of their iconic songs, or when the characters were having little fights. The dialogue was excellent and one of the best parts of the movie, in my opinion.

Obviously, the music was one of the best parts of this film. Watching this movie in a theater is truly the only way to watch it and get the best experience out of it. The musical performances, especially the Live Aid performance sequence at the end of the movie, really makes you feel as if you were there at the Wembley Stadium, experiencing the performance live. The film did an excellent job of making the viewers feel enveloped in the music throughout the movie. It gives off an exhilarating feeling and experience that people carry with them days after they’ve watched the film.

Each of the actors went through extremely rigorous training to bring this movie together, in addition to the exquisite casting by the directors. Rami Malek, who plays Freddie Mercury, took singing and piano lessons just for his role. Each of the actors had to replicate the behavior and mannerisms of the real-life Queen members, which certainly was not an easy task to take on, but regardless, they did it.

All in all, Bohemian Rhapsody is a great film that provides an amazing insight into the life of Freddie Mercury, a genuinely good man. There are insurmountable musical numbers throughout the movie and the overall experience during this film is a fantastic one. I strongly encourage everyone to go to the theater and allow yourself to be dazzled by this extraordinary film, Bohemian Rhapsody.
